Putting the cart to bed

It's been a really good year and the final job is to remove the generator and put the cart back in the shed.

 Removing Generateor

A really BIG thank-you to everyone who has supported the club this year, we really appreciate it.

Thanks also to the officers for their tireless year-round work: Chairman-Budgie, Seretary-Sophie and Treasurer-Lisa. Thanks too to Martin for this year's design, to Gary (in his first year as Cart Captain) for pushing the build and to Matt for getting us to each carnival and home.

But the biggest thank-you goes to the club members for all their efforts.

We were almost accident free this year, until the very last minute when Gary dropped a scafold pole onto a fire extinguisher...

North Petherton Carnival 2012

E-mail Print PDF

The one weeks "tinckering time" was up but we'd been able to add some more decoration to the tractor and were in high spirits and we headed for North Petherton, notorious for being wet. We had a great procession and crossed the finish line just as the rain started.

Bridgwater Carnival 2012

E-mail Print PDF

After all the dissapointment with the tractor last year we arrived in Bridgwater in good shape, although it was a shame a little more of the paint didn't have time dry.A big thanks to Gary and the team for getting the cart to Parkway in good time, we even had time to sit down and have a cuppa before the parade! The cart looked magnificant as we set of and a 3rd in class was a well deserved result.

Early progress

E-mail Print PDF

Can you guess what it is yet?In an attempt to learn from last years' dissapointments, this year the club was intent on making an early start to the build and maintaining the momentum through-out the year. Gary said he was fed-up with switching the lights on for the first-time whilst parked up in Parkway prior to our first procession and many of the members were so exhausted after the last few days of building that they had very little left for the procession.
